The Strange family

Heritage plays a big part in our lives, I love the idea of trying to find out where we've come from but never seem to find the time to do all the research. To help me, I've started to collect photographs from family members. My first heritage book is near completion, I'm still awaiting some information and when I receive it all the tags and hidden notes will be complete. The idea behind this book is to record all the information we (we being the Strange family) already know and then at a later date I have a starting point for when I finally get around to tracing the family tree. The photos I've used are not originals. They are copies from the scanned originals....and they have turned out beautifully. We seem to think the moustache photograph dates back to the late 1880's.

The whole album i've added to the slide show.

a proud mum moment!!

Yesterday Stanley got on his friends (two wheeler) bike and after a wobbly start rode up the road. At 7.30am this morning he asked dad if he could take his stabilisers off his bike to show him he could now ride a two wheeler!!
There we all were cheering outside at 8am (I dread to imagine what the neighbours thought!!) as Stan rode up and down the road on his own...none of this running up and down holding the bike trying to help him balance. He's only four and has done so well. I love the look on his face in the picture above where he is so pleased with himself!! Love you Stan xx

Returned from our holiday..

This has been our 10th summer at Hayling Island. We were lucky enough to have some excellent weather and come home slightly browner than when we left.

I love the beach and these are my favorite photos taken at the beach.

During our first week some of you may have seen Hayling Island on the news. The first we knew about it was when we received a text from a friend. Aparently a whale was stuck in the mud plains on Hayling Island. Trying to get off the island that day was a nightmare, it took us over an hour, which doesn't include the time we stopped to see what was going on. Sure enough the poor Whale was very close to the shore, and at this time we had no idea just how poorly the whale was. as you can see from the pic, she was swimming around nicely.

Sorry, no picture cannot insert it where i want it to go...will try later.
