Cake, chatter and ....

.....a little scrapping time....I think Sundays scrap day was a great success... I say "I think" as its hard to say what everyone else thought of the day when you organise it, but judging by the completed challenges and the layouts created, "I think" that it was a relaxing and eventful day. So......thank you to all you ladies that came along and made the day.

And it wouldn't be a scrap day without the obligatory photos.......

So what did we get up to....... there were two challenges. The first one was to use the following supplies:

  • Bazzill Swizz Dot Cardstock
  • My Minds Eye Patterned Paper
  • a Journaling Spot
  • and a Metal Square.
Here are fabulous layouts created. I hope you can see these photos....

The second challenge was to scraplift one of the three layouts I created for the day:-
1.
(DCWV patterned paper, Bazzill Cardstock. MM Ribbons and Alpha, a green metal circle, Tim Holts ticket)

The stars were cut using a sizzix die and an old pair of Stanley's jeans......jeans (with big holes in the knees!) that sat on the side for a couple of weeks as I couldn't bring myself to chuck them out......very sad!!
2.
(Bazzill Bling Cardstock, DCWV Patterned Paper and some odd scrap bits, MM Ribbon. Tim Holtz Tickets, American Crafts Alpha...OH and some embossed, distressed metal)

The metal embellishment was created from Green coloured metal, the circle was cut using two nestability circles and then placed in an embossing folder and run through the Big Shot.
3.

(Bazzill Bling Cardstock, Love Elsie and MME Patterned Paper)
The large fabric flower was made with a long thin strip of fabric carefully gathered onto a cardstock circle and then another thin long strip of fabric twisted onto a smaller circle of cardstock. The smaller twisted flower was then placed on top of the gathered one. There are lots on videos on You Tube that show you how, you'll be spoilt for choice. The felt circles were cut with the circle nestabilities and stitched to give a more layered feel. Notice Shimelle' s butterfly from her something about almost nothing class.

Here are amazing layouts from the scraplift:
Well done to Sarah and Charlene who won the challenges and to everyone else for taking part and trying something new. Roll on the next all day crop.
Thanks for stopping by xxx
