Yesterday morning the girls created their very own scrap canvas. Here are some photos of them all after two and a half hours of spraying, inking, layering and sticking. Each canvas was sprayed with diamond glimmer's a shame you can't see from these photo's just how sparkly these canvases actually were. The edges were inked.......i managed to persuade them all not to ink over the front of the canvas like the one i tried out!!! one day I'll show the disastrous inked canvas ..NOT...*laugh* Each scallop oval was layered to create mini embellishments and then a strip was placed at the bottom. Now the strip...this was supposed to be covered in small scrunched, inked hearts and flowers, not only did we run out of time but some of the girls decided they didn't want to embellish the strip.......i think maybe they had had enough.... or maybe they liked their canvas just as it was!

Not long after this class I whizzed over to my sisters to meet my brand new nephew. I thought I'd share him with you....he is so divine, so perfect and so beautiful. Meet Archie...who is cradled in the safe arms of my other sister, who you can imagine was very relucant to give him to anyone else for a cuddle *laugh*

Happy Bunting

A while ago I saw a layout using circles, I really am useless in remembering where I see things (if only I could remember the was fab!) but the circles stuck in my head and I drew a sketch of how I wanted my layout to look....then I found loads of scraps...I keep them all!! and this was the result. I drew the bunting freehand (not intending to put the title on it at the time....hence the spare flags) and popped them on foam pads so that they stood out.

The photo is of Stanley (in the middle) with his pal Ryan and girlfriend (of the day!!) Chiara at his 6th Birthday party. Journaling is on the tag under the photo.

Meet the family... trying to get a photo of us all is hard work. I set up the tripod, set the camera to work from the remote control and then gathered everyone together. They all huffed and they all do when I get my camera out......then they moaned and groaned because I couldn't get the remote control to work *laugh* eventually we did get some photo's.

now I'm trying to remember what papers I used?!?!? It's rather late and I can't think I think I may have to let you know......

In these photo's are my mum and dad, my two sisters and their husbands, my brother, my niece, (*note* the only girl in the family!) and my three nephews. My fourth nephew is due tomorrow....and I can't wait to me the little fella. Oh and when we are all together it really is complete and utter bedlam!!!!!

Other news - Today I have read on UKS that Tim Holtz is coming to Newport Pagnell..... .here's the link if you are interested.

Trusted Sylvia

Chepstow Castle April 2010

After my first attempt at machine sewing, I just had to have another bash. Would I be able to sew in a straight line this time, I doubt it! For a little more practice I layered this page and machine stitched around each layer - the lines are still rather wonky! There was even an attempt with the zig zag stitch and as you can see from the close up below that's wonky too. In the end it all adds to the feel and texture of the layout *laugh*. I might put Sylvia away now, I think she needs a rest...bless her!

Meet Sylvia......

.....she was born in 1975 and resides in the bottom of my wardrobe, this is only her second (or maybe third) time out.

I inherited Sylvia from my nan, I have no idea if my nan had her from brand new or whether she acquired her years later.
Sylvia still has her original manual....

and she sews straight and zig zag stitch just fine. Although I need a lot more practise to sew in a straight line. This was my first, proper, attempt to sew on a layout......

It didn't help that I glimmer misted the card stock first for some shine and in the process warped the card slightly. The patterned paper and card is by KI, not sure where the chipboard letters are from but these have also been glimmer misted for some sparkle.

Best get off now to sort out and label the school uniform for tomorrow....I can't believe I've left it all so late....
