My month in numbers

Hello, today i'm linking up with Julie Kirk at Notes on Paper for her month in numbers.
May has been a rather busy month for us, the good thing is that the rugby season has finished now so for a little while we have gained our Sunday's back.  There I was wondering what we should do this Sunday when I realised that we will be joining in with the village Jubilee celebrations.

 Have you any celebratory plans?

26 week photo challenge

 toes to the sky...
....feet closer together please....
......lay down....
......sit up....
.....arms down....
......feet straight....
......point your toes to the sky.....

Can you guess this weeks photo challenge set by the lovely Karen.....

..........yes its FEET............

you either love em or you hate em.

I have to say that are NOT my favourite part of the body.

All photos taken with a 50mm lens in Aperture Priority Mode.

and my favourite one, because of the light caught in the grass

I saw a similar photo to this last year around fathers day (I think) and kept it in mind. I'm sorry but I can't recall the source. I have a funny feeling though that it might be someones blog header and I do remember that she had four children so her feet said We *heart* Daddy. If you are stuck for something personal for fathers day then this is a good idea.....I'll be Moonpigging this photo.

Karen will be a little late blogging her feet, I'm sure when she does she will link to all the other feet photographed too.

Enjoy your week ahead and before I go.....
thank you to the word commenters on my last post. I have a new set of words for the next batch of cards I make.

P.S. their feet were clean when I wrote on them!

A while back I pinned this card from Danielle Flanders.
What a lovely idea and so simple.
As a simple kinda girl with lots of scraps and an alpha sizzix die set I spent a while cutting out some letters.
Now...... what other word cards can I make.....
and on typing this I realised that the most obvious word would have been LOVE....!!
I'll have to remember that one for next time.

Can you think of words that would work well in this way?

I'm liking this card making and think I'm on my way to having a little card stash for when an occasion occurs.

On hooking out the dies I found an old embossing folder.  A quick run through the Bigshot......

......and another card added to the collection.

Oh for the simple things in life.

SJ Crafts Challenge

This month SJ Crafts Challenge  it's all about boys and using some of your old stash.

Great......this one doesn't take too much thinking for me. Boys, boys and more boys in our family....I do feel for my niece though, who has to put up with them all!

However I chose to scrap a subject I've been meaning to for a while now. Boys and their Toys.

It doesn't seem that long ago that if we wanted to find something out we had to make a trip to the library. These days the answer can be found pretty much instantly. On a day out (Kite Flying) something cropped up (for the life of me I can't remember what it was!) so when we sat down to eat our picnic out came the phone and hey presto we had the answer.

If you'd like to take part in the challenge or see what the DT created then please pop across to

Photo Challenge

A different angle, a different level, get low, get high, was the thinking behind Karen's photo challenge this week, "Unseen Perspective".

I opted for getting low......and yesterday.......dare I say it..........we saw the sun!
Aperture priority mode ISO100 1/125 F5.6
My next photo is a view we all see regularly these days I'd say.
Until this challenge though it hadn't occurred to me to photograph it.
So here is my niece yesterday at our first family BBQ of the year
*hurray* for warm sunny days.
AP Mode  F5.6 ISO100 1/200

Thank you for stopping by, wishing you all a lovely week.

Being inked

It's time for a challenge.

This month the lovely Lesley at The Messy Crafter, who I met through UKS, has started a new challenge blog. The Happy Scrappers.

The first scrapbook challenge is "anything goes".
Inspired by this layout on Pinterest I was thinking rectangles and lots of them in pretty patterns and colours.

If you're having a scrappy weekend why not pop across to The Happy Scrappers and join in with their challenge.

Our Saturday has been anything but quiet, tired and exhausted we've settled down to what the BGT final.......for me it is The Loveable Rogues all the way!!

Enjoy your evening.

So Brave....

This post comes with a warning :)
If you don't like spiders then best not look any further :)

When I linked to Julie for my April month in numbers I noticed that she'd previously posted a sketch.

Ummm I liked this one and it was perfect for the photo that had made its way to the top of my scrap pile. It's funny how sometimes it just all comes together.........other times it takes absolutely ages!
Maybe that's just me!
*cringe* *shudder*
Clean and Simple.
Brave men are brave from the very first.
That is definitely Jack.

Thank you for stopping by and thanks to Julie for the inspiration.

Sian's Story Telling Sunday

 March 2012

Is there anything in particular you do today that takes to right back to your childhood?

I have a few such memories and one of them I'll be sharing with you today as part of

Subject: My Dad and Doughnuts

Mum and Dad came for tea and brought doughnuts with them Custard ones and Jam ones.
After tea Dad offers *his* doughnuts and said to the boys,

"Can YOU eat a doughnut WITHOUT licking your lips"

(I have to smile because I don't think my dad can eat a doughnut without saying that.)

And so it begins.........

(apologises for the out of focus photo)
There was many a time when we would all (mum dad sisters and brother) sit around the table *trying* to eat a doughnut without licking our lips. Watching each other intently, laughing, is almost impossible.
Dad always reckoned he won.
(it's ok he doesn't read my blog!)
Clearly he struggled too.

So my question to you is......

Can you eat a doughnut without licking your lips?

Thank you for stopping by, if you pop across to Sian there will be plenty more stories to read.

All day crop

Just outside Milton Keynes
Saturday June 16th
10am till 4pm

If you are interested please drop me an email
scrapbook-me (at) live (dot) co (dot) uk
or leave me a comment
and I'll send you more information.

Many of you many know that when I moved from London in favour of country life I started up a regular crop evening and a couple of times a year I organise an all day crop too.

The day is really informal, the girls are lovely and I thought it might be nice to see if there are any local ladies out there who might be interested in coming along for the day.

Photos from the last all day crop are here if you would like to check it out.

Gosh it feels like a really long week, I'm so glad my working week is now over. A long bank holiday weekend ahead and hoping to find time to cut and stick a little. It doesn't feel right leaving without a photo so here are two cards I made for a birthday this week.'s your birthday!!
Inspired by Amy Tangerine's video tutorial and it just so happened that I had some of the exact same washi tape!

Enjoy the rest of your week xx
