Cards

The first week of the summer holidays is nearly over and what a super week it's been. The weather has been fabulous and long may it last........we can only hope!!.

Last night the opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympics was absolutely amazing (I did wish I could have been there!) the younger two (as the oldest was at a party....he has more nights out than us now!!) were chatting all the way through commenting on the different scenes. It was apparent that they do listen and learn at school!!!

And who would have thought we'd get a little of Daniel Craig *swoon*......and the Queen.... Brilliant!!

All in all not much crafting has been happening although I have made some cards using
American Crafts Dear Lizzy jar stamps.

First on Kraft card.

oops looks like this photo is out of focus and I can't take another photo either as its been posted!
 Then onto white card.
Have you seen the smash tapes? I used this tape here also.

Now i'm getting a little adventurous. Four stamped jars on one card.....and it took me a while to work out how to do it lol!!

I'd like to thank you all again for leaving such lovely comments too. Enjoy the rest of your weekend x

Sports....

Whether it be Olympic related or school sports day why not join in with this months challenge over at SJ Crafts.

You can find all the details here
I didn't want to disappoint you all :) with rugby a huge sport in our house it was obvious (to me) what kind of sport I would scrap.

Throughout the rugby season I take a zillion photos of the boys playing. From this zillion I have a handful of firm favourites and this photo is one of them.

I don't think for a second it is a technically correct photo what with shadows and a man drinking his coffee in the background ....
but all the same.....
I love it. It captures Stan's expression and concentration in anticipation of the ball being passed out to him.
As this was Stan's last season playing tag rugby the title was perfect. And as I worry that my little man with be joining the other two playing full contact.......he can't wait!!

Scrapping with Smash

Smash items.
Have you seen them?
Have you used them?

Sarah from SJ Papercrafts sent me some to play with.
Here you can see how this layout came together.
The scrap items were lovely and so perfect for an "us" layout.

I definitely think I'll be adding smash items to my wish list.
Will you?

This boy is so cute

Today I should be sharing photos from this weeks photo challenge over at Me My Camera Eye only I haven't managed to look at the photos I've taken...they are still on my camera. Sorry Karen, I will try to sort them this week.

So instead I'm sharing a layout that was prepared for the All Day Crop, interactive folder and flaps challenge. I meant to attach the photos to this post  and forgot....never mind it's here now.

(apologises for the reflection on the photos)
All black and white photos with one colour photo amongst them.
I'd forgotten how terribly cute he was ......

Just look at those kissing lips....he still gives me kisses like that now....bless!

And there's the flap with a 4x6 photo underneath.
Tomorrow is the start of a new week and we are on count down until school finishes.....lets hope it starts to brighten up for the school holidays.

Diamond Jubilee Invitation

This story is brought to you today as part of Sian's Storytelling Sunday.

At 4 o'clock one evening H's school called. After quickly reassuring me that nothing was wrong, they explained the school had twelve invitations (six for our school, and six for the school nine miles down the road that they are joined to) from Lord Lieutenant of Northamptonshire to attend the Queens Diamond Jubilee Picnic at Burghley House. They informed me that Harry had been one of the six selected from school to attend the picnic.A letter would follow to confirm the details.

WOO HOO!! I'm not sure who was more excited me or him...........what am I on about........of course it was me!! A teenager that spends most of his time horizontal...... excited......!!

I REALLY REALLY wanted to go with him.

So June 13th arrived and off I sent him with his picnic.......money for a program (you have to have a keepsake) .....a rain mac (you can't trust the British Weather)..... and a camera (ummm....would he actually remember to use it).

"Make sure you do take some photos for me and nan please Harry."
"Yes mum" he replied with that look on his face (you know the one) and a roll of his eyes.

I thought about him all day, watched the royal coverage on the news and waited in earnest for him to return home.

Later that evening after discussing his day we had a look at the few photos he took.

On Arrival at Burghley House

Queen Elizabeth II arriving by helicopter. That's her in the blue.
Just after she planted a tree in the gardens.
and then when she was leaving.

I'm sure this is an occasion he will always remember.
Burghley House have added a royal visit page to their website here if you'd like a look.

Thank you for stopping by, if you'd like to read more stories then be sure to hop over to
