Ticket to Ride

I love days like today. The sun is shinning and I have been enjoying a cuppa and a slice of toast on the patio. I can hear the continuous hum of the Formula 1 cars. At this time in the morning they must be testing / warming up.

Today is Race Day at the British Grand Prix.

Helicopters fly back and forth all day and at lunchtime we will see the Red Arrows. The fly right over the village....our house.

Whilst watching all those cars whizz round and round (on the TV) does nothing for me... It is a privilege to be able to hear the races and imagine how fantastic it must be to actually be there and experience it first hand.

I do have a layout to share today and whilst it's not quite got the thrill of racing, it records the thrill of a roller coaster (or a Roller Cola, as number two son used to call them).

I'm trying to keep the layouts for my holiday album slim..not too much layering or big embellishments, in the hope that I will only have to use one album....
These are the 4x6's to sit in the pocket page protectors

Whatever you are doing today...enjoy yourself...and if you are watching the Grand Prix .....remember I will be listening.

  1. It looks like your holiday was packed with fun. And I always think it fun to do full pages and 4 x 6 for trips. Love the color scheme here and all the stitching.

  6. I really like the clean lines of this page! The strips of grey polka dot paper caught my eye and I like how they frame the page... then I see them in all three pages :) great continuity!

  14. Hope you enjoyed the hum and the buzz :). Your pages so lovely - I like the combustion of colour and white space and your little turquoise button/ badge is so pertly placed.

  15. Hope you enjoyed the listening, lovely clean page. I like your theory that you'll only need one album :)

  16. One album.... hhhmmm... shall we bet on each other keeping to that! I think the divided pages are working well in that regard though. I've just realised what it is about your style that I love - its the way you space your elements out without looking like they are floating! Love it!

  17. My husband watches the racing when he can but that's not that often. I don't understand it at all myself! cheeky boy has already learnt to say 'racecar' though, so I guess he'll be taking after his daddy! x

  19. How cool to live so near the track? I am one of those sad people who loves seeing them go round and round (a side effect of growing up with two older brothers!) so I have been to about 6 Britsh GPs and another 3 abroad besides :) Anyway, I digress, love this layout but really love the 4x6s too. Such clean lines and the stitching always looks fab when you do it, Just lovely x
