A Mountain Trail

Typhoon Lagoon, Florida is the place to be. I loved this water park, we had so much fun. The boys though, preferred Blizzard Beach for the bigger water slides. Me I was happy on the lazy river.
Some more cutting out to blend with the teeth layout.

Simply a Moment

On a lighter note than last months, I join Alexa and many others again this month for Simply a Moment. A time for pausing, noticing and recording.

It's all calm and (unusually) quiet, the boys are upstairs talking to each other and their friends through their xboxes. We have half an hour until we meet with friends for lunch, so I hook out my camera to take photos of a finished layout. I see my valentines flowers on the table and smile to myself. My mind wanders back to our very first valentines many many years ago. There were no flowers then and there haven't been many during the years inbetween. Quickly I take a few snaps of the flowers......it maybe a while before he buys me some more :)  Friday 15th 11.30am

..to my hearts content

February is the month of love.
I saw this tutorial by Erin Stewart the night before last, immediately I grabbed my circle punch and some scraps.
I sat back down in front of the telly and started to punch away.

After roughly five (((loud))) circles my husband looked over
"are you really going to sit there and do that all night" he said.
My circle punch must have been the loudest punch I own!!
"Just give me a minute" I mumble.

A short sharp burst of punched cicles and I settled into sticking them down.
Here is the end result, all framed and ready to go.

Last night....when he was a work....I punched and punched to my hearts content and made a few more of these layered hearts.
It's not long now until Mothers Day.

Oh My....

Recently I've been enjoying some light hearted scrapping. I'm being inspired by others and taking an element or two to a layout.
I saw Amy Tangerines video and knew that her triangle cutting technique would work well with this photo. Then I remembered I had an arrow template for stitching so I used this too. In no time at all I had another completed layout for my holiday album.

Wishing you all a good week wherever you are and whatever you are doing. It's half term here this week and I'm  looking forward to some family time.

Universal Studios

Another layout from our Florida trip.....

we stopped for the obligatory photos before heading into Universal Studios.
This time I was inspired by Miss Smith who posted about her Pretty Polaroid Project.
papers from the studio calico classic collection with some scraps.

I'd like to seek some inspiration...I have so many photos from this holiday to scrap that I wondered what your favourite collections are at the moment? The purchase of some more supplies (i've already got my eye on the new SC Snippets collection) is very much needed. Thank you.

Story Telling Sunday - Pick your Precious

It's the first Sunday of the month and time for Pick your Precious hosted by the lovely Sian.

I had a completely different story to tell today and while I've been out all morning I changed my mind. Sian has said that  Pick Your Precious is about celebrating the little things you love. What if the little things you love have not yet been tucked safely into the draw or up onto a shelf. Some of the most precious things I have are photos. Instead of sharing some photos that are precious to me now I want to share some that will be precious to me in years to come.

With the England win yesterday in round one of the Six Nations game and this morning watching the boys all play a game, one win (DS1) one draw (DS3) and one lost (DS2- Try 1) today's pick your precious is all about how much I love capturing photos of the boys playing ruby.

It's surprising how emotional a game can get. While I stand on the sidelines watching a game all I want is for them to play well and win. Some will say it's all about taking part and playing as a team and I do agree with this. Ultimately though.... it is all about winning!

I'm not a competitive person and nor are the boys. They don't get upset or cross like some of them do and they take it all in there stride. But my....to see them win makes it all worthwhile, to see their faces light up, the boost that they get from scoring a try (like Jack today and he promised his dad too that he would score a try for him, as he was working and wouldn't get to see them play), to see them all upbeat with a spring in their step after a tough game (especially DS1 team, where they all work so hard). These are the precious moments that I will always remember and sometimes I'll have the perfect photo to go with these moments too.

A photo each from this mornings games.

DS1 bottom left. Position Flanker. Watching and waiting for the ball to come out.
DS2 - not a great photo, it's so hard to get a perfect shot when they are constantly on the move. I like this one though. Jack has the ball. I have to smile as it amazes me how this boy plays in all his clothes. He really feels the cold so he insists on playing in his tracksuit bottoms, four top layers and his hat!!
DS3 knicknamed by his coaches The Tank!
With two boys tackling him, who both dropped to their knees to get him around his legs..and still couldn't get him down, reminded me of Chris Robshaw in yesterdays England game!
and just in case you didn't see my post last year, here is Chris Robshaw (England Captain) during a training session with DS1.
....oh and another with all three of them. They have all changed so much since this photo was taken.
Chris Robshaw and Ugo Monye

Thank you for enduring my post while I once again show rugby photos. It's not possible to know how long they will all continue to play so I must make the most of these precious moments (and photos) while they all love the game.

A holiday in numbers

Julie at Note on Paper hosts My Month in Numbers.

Not only is this the perfect way to record each month's activities, I think its a brilliant way to record a day out, occasion and even a holiday. I've used it to sum up Christmas before and to record the number of photos taken in a month. This time I've used it as a cover page for my florida album.
If you hop across to Julie, you'll see plenty more numbers this month.
