Happy Christmas

Finally, school has finished and in two days time we will all have two weeks together to enjoy the Christmas holidays. I'm looking forward to Christmas time spent with family.

Here's hoping that you all have a lovely Christmas and that 2014 is a healthy year, not just for me but for you all too.

Before I go, I'd like to share with you some frames I've made using these 10mm Mulberry Flowers
There is something therapeutic and relaxing about sticking these mulberry flowers to paper
so much so that I made another frame...and another...and another...and another....

It's a good friend of mine (that I've mentioned before) that has an on-line shop which sells these Mulberry flowers and because I have the privilege of seeing all the colours first hand (and they are all so lovely) it really is a struggle to decide what colours to use. In the end I decided not to decide
...hence all the frames.

I had a play around too with the flowers to see if I could take some nice photos to show them off.
You know it's at times like these that I wish there were some girls in the family (that lived close by) to enjoy these little flowers with me.
Happy Holidays x x

Fast Festive Scrapping with a Mini Book

How are you all and how are you getting on with your Christmas preparations and in particular your Christmas journal?

In the end I decided that I didn't want the structure of a daily entry opting to make a mini book to include some photos and stories over the month of December. If you would like to know how this book came together, using the Echo Park 'tis the season Collection Kit, full details can be seen on SJ Crafts blog today.

Please pop across and let us know how you are scrapping your Christmas and if you've been inspired to create your own mini Christmas book.
 Happy Christmas x

Misted Circles

I wish I could say I was taking a break from all the Christmas crafting to share with you a holiday layout. Which I am...although there is not much Christmas crafting going on. I am at home all day, every day not able to do any household chores (not moaning about that one :) ...not able to do much of anything really... except the scrolling of Instagram on my phone every five minutes (thanks to those of you that keep me smiling with your photos and comments) and the reading of numerous books.

I am able to sit at a table and stand (with my crutches) for a short while now before I get sore and stiff. My lovely husband has moved some of my crafting supplies into the study/computer room also know as "his" guitar room. And....as he says...I'm in now!! Oh... you bet I am. And once I am back on my feet properly I can feel a re-organisation and a trip to Ikea coming on!

The Christmas journal, is still in the planning. Somewhere in my head..amongst the Christmas pressie lists. How are you getting on with yours?

Anyways, here's the holiday layout. Using a small snippet from the Simple Stories Cheese Collection....

A while back I was inspired by a post using mists.  I remember the coloured circle with all the little details and the photo to the left. Perfect for my Epcot photo.

I'll leave you now to carry on with your Christmas preparations...good luck.

Story Telling Sunday - Pick Your Precious

Today is the first of December. Woah....where has the year gone? It seems that every year passes faster and faster which is why we should stop and take stock. This past couple of years, with help from Sian from High in the Sky, this is exactly what I've done. Her enthusiasm and encouragement has helped to remind me of stories that would possibly never have been told.

This is the last Story Telling Sunday of the year and being in a position where I am not able to stand at the sidelines watching my little men play rugby this morning...sob sob....I thought I'd spend some time writing this post. Last night after considering some precious picks that I've not yet shared with you, I started to think about the format for my Christmas Journal....again! Well wouldn't you know it...there it is....the last Pick your Precious of the year....my Christmas Journals. The one project of the year I start and I finish.
I have 12x12, 8x8 and 10x8 journals. My Christmas journal started out in 2007, as part of Shimelle's JYC, over the years it has developed into a record of our daily December activities. Looking back it's great to see what the month of December held for us, to see the family traditions we have carried on from our own childhood and the traditions we have made our own.

I've thoroughly enjoyed blogging recording my stories, thank you to Sian for giving us a place to do so.
