I love you.....

Some celebrate and some don't.
Valentines day that is.
For us it's always a little hit and miss.
Some years we get each other a card.
 Some years we don't.
Over lunch with the girls...H showed us all a cake she loved.....they all said how good it would be on a card. (I had to agree...as I am always getting moaned at for continuously looking at my phone.) Somewhere amongst this conversation I was nominated to turn this cake into a valentines card.
Twine and mulberry rose from Crafty Business4u. Papers and wood veneers from SJ Crafts
I made four variations of the card....as the awkward one wanted a big red heart :)
My husband opened his card on the morning of 14th Febraury....
he laughed and said "no you don't!"

So how about you?
Did you celebrate valentines day with a handmade card?

  5. More often I'll buy a card, but I received one this year with a very scrapbook-y look to it. It had a typewriter and photos pinned to a banner on the front. Very thoughtfully chosen!

  7. That's hilarious!!! I loved your husband's response. He definitely knows where he stands and probably doesn't even mind!! I love that humor in a marriage! Great card!

  10. Gorgeous cards - the sentiment made me laugh. Here we quote Dilbert when asked by his girlfriend, "I think you love that computer more than me!" replies, "No of course I don't love this computer more than you." whilst thinking, "Don't ask about the laptop...." ;)

  15. I love them! Much more funky and modern than you can get in the shops. I always do handmade for DH - this year I used Echo Park's For The Record so he got blue black and yellow!

  16. Both lovely, funny but cute. So much better than all the overly sentimental purchased ones. Your hubby must know how much you love him, but still really appreciate the effort you put in.

  17. Ha ha, this is a great sentiment, I have pinned this to maybe use next year! I love the one on the big red heart. We usually exchange a card at least but we don't do much else. x
