Inky Fingers

Tim Holtz....does he do it for you?
I am of course referring to his products :)

I've always thought his products were dark and masculine...until recently when I saw that SJ Crafts are stocking his new mini stackable ink pads in wonderful vibrant colours.

Over on SJ Crafts blog we have been working with some of Tim Holtz products. Yesterday, design team member Annie took you through her process using Tim's inks, paints, stencils and remanets to create some beautiful cards and embellishments. Today (again over at SJ Crafts) I share with you how I used Tim Holtz stackable mini ink kit and Faded Dot Stencil to create these tags.

Please do pop across, have a look and let us know what you think?

You're the Best

It's half term here this week and so far it's done nothing but rain. We popped out this morning and this afternoon while encouraging and supervising the making of an information leaflet for homework with the ten year old  (oh the joy!..sometimes I really do not like homework) I found some time to make a thank you card.

Stamp sets... Full of Surprise and A Little Sentimental
Wishing you all a good week x

Oh before I go, thank you for all your lovely comments on my previous post. As some of you asked..... for the little inked Anchors I used a Glitz Roller stamp. Like these ones.

 Happy Sunday to you all.

And what a lovely Sunday it is too.  What's so lovely about this Sunday you wonder? For us the rugby season has ended, as much as I love watching the boys's really nice to wake up on a Sunday morning, for a few weeks, and not have think about how many layers I need to wear to get me through the freezing cold morning.

As I managed to get all my jobs done this morning (the ones I could do, as I'm still not fully mobile) I have some time to share a little layout with you.

The photo was taken in Liverpool inside the Maritime Museum. It wasn't a posed photo, although it does look like it could have been.
Using SJ Crafts March kit
I do love a little mist these days. I still make a terrible terrible mess with them and end up wearing more than I actually put on the layout. Does anyone else have this problem? I did spray inside a box too, a tip someone left me a while back.

The papers and stickers are from SJ Crafts March Kit which unfortunately has now sold out. There's still other kits in stock that may take your fancy, and if they do SJ Crafts is offering free postage on orders over £15...until 10am tomorrow morning.

Happy Sunday to you all x

Keeping it Real

Back in the day, I was still a teenager watching "Top of the Pops" when I worked with a lovely lady who always said that if/when she had children, she would make sure that she watched top of the pops every week so that she would/could be a "cool" parent. She was true to her word too.

What does being a "cool" parent mean to you? Keeping up to date with the latest bands/groups. No1 son loves RAP and while I am partial to a little, it's not something that I want to listen to all the time.

I know I don't fall into the category of being a "cool" parent. Now Dad on the other hand likes to think he's "with it". Only this morning No2 son downloaded a RAP app and there was dad making up his very own RAP. While the boys rolled their eyes and I smiled to myself, someone was having fun.
This early morning RAP session, reminded me that I had this layout waiting to be shared.

If you look close enough you'll see dad trying to be cool and No1 son grinning.....I can still see him shaking his head and laughing to himself.

The photos were taking in the lovely garden of Chester Cathedral last summer. Each tags tells a little story about this photo session.

SJ Crafts Monthly Challenge

It's challenge time.....

Details for SJ Crafts monthly challenge, a bingo challenge (probably my most favourite type of challenge) is here.

I chose the top row to use on my layout. Mist, a border punch and circles.

The photos were taken at a bike festival and there I was thinking No3 son was taking an interest in the bikes when I realised he was looking at himself in the wing mirrors and waving! There really is no hope for him :) !
This layout came together using the 7 Dots March Kit from SJ Crafts
Here's the bingo challenge as I know you'll want to have a go and join in this month :)

In other news some of my IG friends will know that I've been back in hospital this week for further surgery to my hip. I've just popped on here quickly to post this pre-prepared challenge. It will take some time before I am up and about properly again. I really hope to get around to catching up with you all soon.....when I can stay awake long enough to read your posts :)

Enjoy your lovely long bank holiday weekend x
